What was the most valuable piece of career advice that you received?
What most influenced my career path, was when my high school friend Ben Enosh, suggested we start a company together with a few other friends.
Up until that point, I was sure I would be pursuing an academic career.
What was the worst piece of business advice that you received?
It has happened many times that the advice I received was not consistent with my gut feeling. Over time, I have learned not to follow such advice.
What advice would you give to someone starting their career in the tech industry?
My piece of advice is that anything can be learned.
What tips would you give to someone aiming for a c-level position?
Learn how to hire good team members and managers. Learn how to grow your team members’ careers (even if not within your teams). Aim to hire people who are better than you.
Learn how to really listen. It is not a weakness to be flexible, or to listen to others.
Learn how to dive into details without losing the big picture.
Are you particularly proud of any career advice that you’ve given or the career route/development of anyone you’ve mentored?
Over the years I have hired many talented, yet completely inexperienced team members. I am proud to see many of them advance within our company, as well as spread their wings.
In particular, as an entrepreneur, I am proud to see some of them start their own startups.
