What is your favorite personal gadget?
I wouldn't swap working in an open plan office for anything, but there are times when it can be distracting and noisy. So my sound cancelling headphones would have to be my favorite.

Do you have a favorite piece of personal software?
I got into meditating about three years ago using an app called Headspace. I think the team there have done an amazing job - it's such a great app to use and it's really made a difference to my health and wellbeing.

What was the first piece of technology you got really excited about?
I was eleven and my parents gave me a Commodore Amiga 500+ for Christmas. Until then, I'd only ever seen a computer at school but this was a huge step up. I loved that I could do a lot more than just play games on it.

What device improves your life most at work?
It's my smartphone by a mile. There isn't much that I can't do on it in terms of conducting work.

What software keeps you most productive at work?
I use ToDoIst all of the time. I love it because I can create or edit to do lists on my smartphone really quickly and they sync into my browser in Google Chrome via an add-on. To do lists don't need to be fancy - I just need to be able to quickly add something and mark that it's important.

Is there any technology that has become extinct that you would like to resurrect?
I love that vinyl record sales are making a recovery. Long may it continue.

Is there any technology you would personally recommend that you don’t think enough people know about? (Hardware or software, work or personal).
We've just started to use Pleo and it's been great. They're a Danish startup and basically their software makes it really easy for companies to administer expenses with as little admin as possible. One of our maxims is “less admin, more impact” so it's a perfect fit.

Do you think anything about your personal use of tech would surprise your colleagues?
I sometimes use my dishwasher to steam whole salmon. They cook perfectly. Does that count?
