Using 10GigE it's possible to converge storage networking (Fibre Channel), clustering (Infiniband) and LAN traffic onto a single wire - Ethernet. Chelsio's white paper argues that 10Gig E networks can be used as the network link for networked storage, computing clusters and LAN traffic. It discusses the attributes of Chelsio's T3 NIC (Network interface card) technology that, it says, enables such a convergence. This 6-page white paper is a useful discussion of issues in this sphere of having a unified network wire - Ethernet everywhere so to speak.
