Increasing Database Performance in an Enterprise Environment
This paper summarizes the results of two performance evaluations where EMC DatabaseXtender was used in Oracle application environments to address overburdened production databases. The test environments included a multi-national manufacturing firm and a large telco firm—each running Oracle E-Business Suite.
These enterprises used DatabaseXtender for intelligent policy-based data movement from their production databases across tiered storage environments—circumventing the need for upgraded hardware or additional storage. The paper reports performance improvements in logical I/O, CPU time, and wall-clock time.
