Creating Web Services Using Novell® exteNd™ and NetWare® 6.5

This white paper describes the Web services tools and technologies which are included with NetWare 6.5 and summarizes other Novell exteNd technologies (formerly SilverStream) that are available for developing, deploying and hosting Web services applications. The Novell exteNd suite includes four components: Novell exteNd Workbench™, Novell exteNd Application Server, Novell exteNd Composer™ and Novell exteNd Director™. exteNd Application Server and Workbench are included with NetWare 6.5 at no cost and enable Web services creation and implementation using an integrated development environment and a state-of-the-art J2EE application server. Novell exteNd Application Server provides a complete foundation for building and deploying cross-platform, high performance, J2EE applications. exteNd Workbench provides a visual development environment and the administration tools for centralized deployment and support of Web services.
