In this paper, we will introduce and describe the fundamentals of Akamai’s IP Application Accelerator and Web Application Accelerator managed services. Recognizing that many business remote access strategies hinge around technologies such as VPN and Citrix, a comparison between IP Application Accelerator which supports any IP-enabled application and WAN Optimization solutions is provided. Armed with this knowledge, businesses can select the best solution or combination of solutions to meet their remote access and business continuity requirements.
