Foster’s EMEA is the European arm of the Foster’s Group, a global beverage distributor with operations across the world. Foster’s EMEA distributes more than 20 famous Australian wine brands across 32 countries in Europe. The company ships over 7.5 million cases of wine per year, and is responsible for importing more than twenty percent of all Australian wine sold in the UK alone.
Foster’s EMEA had a rapidly growing mountain of data to store, and the approach of using storage within individual servers was proving difficult to maintain. Ken Kaban, technology services manager for Foster’s EMEA, is responsible for managing the
organisation’s IT resources, and he recognised that a different approach was required to support the business in future.
Having evaluated the storage virtualisation products on the market along with partner Bell Microsystems, Kaban decided that EqualLogic’s iSCSI-based PS Series SAN arrays would deliver the required flexibility and ease of use required by Foster’s EMEA.
