Enterprises face a number of challenges when deploying open source software as scaling up operations often requires a complex set of tools and a team of specialized coding experts. While some organizations have the engineering skills in-house to oversee the operations, many don’t and are left with unexpected costs and failed projects. This paper compiles the results from a survey by SAS, outlining the attitudes and business considerations of one hundred IT decision makers regarding open source analytics technology.
