Since last year the average total cost of a data breach in the Middle East has increased to 18.54 million Saudi Arabian Riyal while the average cost paid for each lost or stolen record containing sensitive and confidential information increased from 526 SAR in 2016 to 580 SAR. This Ponemon Institute report examines the costs incurred by 27 companies across 10 different industry sectors after those companies experienced the loss or theft of protected personal data and discusses how and why the cost of a data breach fluctuates across different countries.
