Automation Anywhere vs. Kryon RPA: Which is the best RPA solution?

IT Central Station users review Automation Anywhere and Kryon RPA, two of the leading solutions in the RPA market.

By 2021, it's been predicted that there will be more than four million robots doing office and administrative work as well as sales and related tasks. And, as robotic process automation becomes more popular, more and more businesses will look to implement RPA projects of their own. However, choosing the right solution isn't easy - every business is different, and there is no ‘one size fits all' solution.

Over 388,000 professionals have used IT Central Station research to inform their purchasing decisions. Its latest paper looks at Automation Anywhere and Kryon RPA, two of the highest reviewed solutions in the RPA market.

Below is a brief summary of the report, highlighting what real IT Central Station users think of each solution - from their most valuable features, to what each solution could do better.

Automation Anywhere

The world's largest supplier of RPA software and the pioneer of the intelligent digital workforce.

With an average rating of 8.0 from 246 reviews, Automation Anywhere's solution is clearly one of the most sought-after products in the RPA market. Deployed largely throughout the financial services, manufacturing, and software R&D industries, Dell's offering is used by companies of multiple sizes, particularly those with over 1000 employees.

Users point to bot insights as a key feature that helps set Automation Anywhere apart from its competitors. Customers also speak favourably of the ease at which they can fix bug issues encountered in the post-production process. Still, despite the solution's clear advantages, critics do highlight that it could be improved with better use case management. They also comment that the product would benefit from more commands for PDF integration to make it more flexible.

Kryon RPA

The Kryon RPA platform sets the standard for secure, scalable, cost-efficient RPA management and optimisation.

Achieving an average rating of 8.5 from 19 reviews, Kryon RPA is highly regarded by its users. Implemented throughout the financial services, insurance, and comms service provider industries, Kryon RPA has found a home at a wide range of businesses, from sub 200 employee companies to larger organisations with workforces over 1000 strong.

Kryon RPA's advocates speak of its ability to automate processes fast and easily, without the need for users to be developers. The recording capability is also seen as a valuable feature because of the amount of data the solution can capture automatically. However, the solution is not perfect, and critics often focus on issues surrounding object detection, as well as a lack of OCR which limits the ability of users to read text.
