With an average rating of 8.4 from 16 reviews, Control-M is a highly respected solution in the workload automation market. Popular throughout a range of industries, financial services firms, retailers, and healthcare companies all make use of Control-M to improve their operational efficiency. Although deployed predominantly at larger companies (75%), the solution does see some modest use at smaller (10%) and mid-size (14%) companies.

Plaudits of Control-M recommend the solution because of its high-class monitoring tool, the ease at which it allows users to keep track of help desk tickets, and its automation API which opens up numerous opportunities to create workflows on-demand. However, the solution is not perfect, and Control-M's critics argue that the solution should be more user friendly and offer a developer sandbox that could help users try out and experience new features.

Achieving an average rating of 9.2 from 33 reviews, OpCon is a market leading solution that meets most user needs. From financial services firms, to governmental organisations, and consumer goods companies, OpCon appeals to business leaders in numerous industries and of all sizes. Larger companies with over 1000 employees make up 42% of OpCon users, whilst mid-size businesses and smaller organisations make up 39% and 19% of users respectively.   

OpCon advocates highlight the solution's simplicity as a key reason for its success. They also discuss how well it can be used to organise workflows, making them easier to monitor and adjust if necessary. A steep learning curve is perhaps the largest fault that critics aim at the solution. Many believe it to be very complicated for beginners to use, and the set-up of calendars and frequencies needs improvement.
