Kofax RPA and WorkFusion: Which is the best RPA solution?

Real user reviews of Kofax RPA and WorkFusion, two of the highest reviewed solutions in the robotic process automation (RPA) market.

By 2021, Forrester predicts that there will be more than four million robots doing office and administrative work as well as sales and related tasks. And, as robotic process automation becomes more popular, more and more businesses will look to implement RPA projects of their own. However, choosing the right solution isn't easy - every business is different, and there is no ‘one-size fits all' solution.

Over 388,000 professionals have used IT Central Station research to inform their purchasing decisions. Its latest paper looks at Kofax RPA and WorkFusion, two of the highest reviewed solutions in the robotic process automation (RPA) market.

Below is a brief summary of the report, highlighting what real IT Central Station users think of each solution - from their most valuable features, to how they've improved individual businesses, as well as what each solution could do better.

Kofax RPA

Eliminate errors by automating data gathering and input

With an average rating of 7.7 from three reviews, Kofax RPA can be considered a solid choice when it comes to RPA solutions. Of interest to multiple decision makers, Kofax RPA appeals to media companies, financial services firms, and software R&D companies alike. This interest likely comes from its use at companies of all sizes - reviewers of the product come from both smaller companies of sub-200 employees, and larger multinationals with workforces that number over 1000.

Kofax RPA's admirers point to its drag and drop functionality as an intuitive piece of UI that helps make the solution simple to use. This feature, coupled with its ability to integrate different third-party support and productivity services has ensured the solution can meet the needs of its customers whatever their requirements.

Yet for all its benefits, Kofax RPA is not a 10/10 solution. Its critics argue that it doesn't offer true scalability which can limit its application and wider implementation across the business. A recording function is also seen as an update that would help take the solution to the next level.

Software that helps business users to integrate core systems and automate transactions

Achieving an average rating of 7.5 from six reviews, WorkFusion fares quite similarly to Kofax RPA as a dependable solution that can meet the majority of an organisation's RPA needs.

Software R&D companies are overwhelmingly more likely to have interest in WorkFusion, with 36% of review readers claiming to be from this industry. A range of industries follow behind, with financial services firms, comms service providers, and retailers all showcasing an interest in the solution. Much the same as Kofax RPA, WorkFusion appeals to businesses of all sizes, particularly those with over 1000 employees.

WorkFusion's strongest feature is its ease of use. It accomplishes this by providing great document recognition capabilities, an intuitive, easy to navigate dashboard, and a user-friendly recorder. Without these features users believe it would not function nearly as effectively.

Despite its useful features, the solution still has room for improvement. Critical reviewers would rather WorkFusion become more NLP-based, and others believe it should integrate more with ERP solutions like SAP.
