Where were you born and raised? I was born in Columbia, South Carolina but spent my time growing up in Dallas, Texas. I am now based just south of there, in Austin, Texas.

What was your first job? My first job involved selling Cokes at the University of South Carolina football games when I was 7 years old, although I only did it so I could get into the game for free.

What was the first product you got really excited about? I was most excited about my very first cell phone. It was known as a ‘Mobile Phone' but it wasn't. It was inconveniently mounted to the floorboard of my car in 1986!

Who has been the biggest influence on your career? My father, without a doubt. His work ethic and character are both unequalled.

What has been your greatest achievement? Being a father to Jeb, Skyler and Thomas.

What has been your biggest mistake? I really should have mastered finance earlier in my career.

What is your greatest strength? My natural curiosity for things is one of my biggest strengths, as well as a willingness to try anything at least once.

What is your biggest weakness? I guess this could also have its downsides - so, my curiosity and willingness to try anything at least once!

What do you think is the aspect of your role most neglected by peers? I think the creativity and passion that comes with my role doesn't necessarily translate under the title of ‘CMO'.

Which word or phrase is your mantra and which word or phrase makes you squirm? The phrase "But that's not how we do things here" certainly makes me squirm - it's an immediate shut-down and doesn't encourage any sort of collaboration.

What makes you stressed? I don't rest well, so not having anything to do workwise makes me stressed.

What do you do to relax? I spend a lot of my downtime in the gym. I'm a bit of a gym rat and enjoy training to escape the day-to-day stresses.

What is your favorite song? ‘Heroes' by David Bowie, without a doubt.

Which book taught you most? The Bible.

Do you have a team or sport that you follow? I am a great supporter of Texas Longhorn Football - that's American football, just to be clear!

Which country would you like to work in? Australia

Which company do you think has the best marketing? Oh please, that's too easy - for at least three decades now it has to be Apple.

What do you love most about your job? Most certainly the privilege of having an impact on the lives of 6,500 employees - it is truly an honor to be in that position.

What is your favorite book? The Bible

What keeps you awake at night? The occasional loud noises. However, I usually sleep like a rock, so very little keeps me up at night.
