What is your favourite personal gadget?
I love Nest Cams – I have them installed throughout my home and other work and personal properties abroad. It’s really useful to know what’s going on in the properties abroad and I also have a fairly open-door policy with my family at home, so it’s great to see everyone coming and going.

Do you have a favourite piece of personal software?
My life is largely about instant communication – I would definitely struggle without WhatsApp, particularly the web version which allows me to keep in constant touch with my business partners, colleagues and family.

What was the first piece of technology you got really excited about?
As soon as smartphones came out, my life became so much more efficient – as a teenager when I was just starting out with my first business, a web hosting site, I wouldn’t be able to leave the house for long as I would need to come home and constantly be responding to emails. Being able to email on-the-go and email remotely was fundamental in the quick growth of the business and my work-life balance in general!

What device improves your life most at work?
It would have to be my iPhone – I use it all day every day, for pretty much everything. Most importantly it has all my pictures of my son on it, which is my motivation every day.

What software keeps you most productive at work?
We’ve invested in over 100 people around the world and it would be almost impossible to stay in constant communication with them all without Google Hangouts – being able to host meetings with numerous people from different countries saves so much time and allows me to stay fully up to speed with all the companies we invest in.

Is there any technology that has become extinct that you would like to resurrect?
Easy – the inner child in me would play Golden Eye 007 on a Nintendo 64 forever.

Is there any technology you would personally recommend that you don’t think enough people know about? (Hardware or software, work or personal)
My PT Hub – a software for personal trainers and fitness fanatics. Not only is it insanely efficient but it tracks my steps, fitness, health and generally keeps me in check.

Do you think anything about your personal use of tech would surprise your colleagues?
Despite being a huge tech-lover, I am one of the more discreet ‘techies’ in the office – so it is always fun when my colleagues come to my house which is completely connected, I love all things ‘smart-home’ focused and having the ability to control everything in my home from my iPhone.
