    Saigon, Vietnam     
  2. What was your first job?  
    After college: Technical Support Engineer for MedicaLogic, an Electronic Medical Record start-up that was later acquired by GE Healthcare.
  3. What was the first product you got really excited about?
    Palm Pilot based prescription writing application that was integrated with the first Palm Pilot based electronic pocket pharmacopeia.
  4. Who has been the biggest influence on your career?
    My father as he shaped how I approach curiosity, impact, and empathy.
  5. What has been your greatest achievement?
    Being part of the executive team that grew a start-up from less than $1M to over $14M in rev in four years and became the largest ad network in southeast Asia prior to acquisition.
  6. What has been your biggest mistake?
    Not standing my ground against the direction of founders when the current business performance and projections didn’t support expansion of golf centers.
  7. What is your greatest strength?
    The ability to zoom in and out from vision/big picture to tactical execution. Being able to develop a strategy throughout that spectrum helps me empower the various teams responsible for execution.
  8. What is your biggest weakness?
    Intolerance for complacency and excuses…think, act, learn
  9. What do you think is the aspect of your role most neglected by peers?  
    That GTM it’s just messaging, positioning, and demand generation. Modern Marketing organizations must feel responsible for the overall revenue operations of the company. How do sales and marketing investments support the entire revenue funnel from spend to new booking, renewals, and upsells? Marketing represents not only the voice of the market but also the analysis of how products, services, and brand are being received by the market.

    Mantra: Curiosity, Impact, Empathy
    Squirm: “I didn’t have enough time”

    Not making progress
