The top African countries for cybercrime defence… and the bottom

Not many countries in Africa have proper policies and mechanism to counter cyber attacks which has seen the continent lose over US$ 3.5 billion in 2017 alone according to Africa Cybersecurity Report 2017.

There are many factors that lead to this downward trend but foremost is the lack of local expertise and laws to counter the attacks. Other factors include the little money spent by governments and private bodies to tackle cybercrime.

Even though this is the general outlook of the continent, there are countries that have spearheaded the fight against cybercrime and others who need to wake up from their slumber and face the demons head on. This article will show the top countries who are at the forefront in fighting cybercrime and those who have put in little effort despite the dangers.
