AMD's Ryzen 3 2200G with Radeon Vega graphics, our favorite budget gaming CPU, gets even cheaper

If you’re looking for a gaming-friendly CPU at a low price, the AMD Ryzen 3 2200G processor is a great pick. It’s our favorite budget CPU for gaming at it’s normal price, but today you can shave $10 off that already-low total on Amazon, bringing the total cost for the Ryzen 3 2200G down to $90.

Four Ryzen CPU cores deliver plenty of processing oomph, and those are paired with eight Radeon Vega compute units that let the Ryzen 3 2200G play PC games even if you don’t have a graphics card. Its frame rates are good enough for many games, including e-sports, but you may need to dial back graphics settings or set your game resolution to 720p for the best results.

If you want to enhance your experience further, you can overclock the APU using an AM4 Ryzen motherboard, or spring for high-speed memory. The chip’s Vega graphics cores tap into system RAM, unlike discrete graphics cards, and upgrading from DDR4/2133 to DDR4/3200 memory gets you about 10 percent more gaming performance. Make sure you opt for dual-channel RAM rather than a single stick, too.

The AMD Ryzen 3 2200G earns its title as our top budget gaming CPU, and this deal makes it even more affordable. And we aren’t the only ones who love it—it’s currently sitting at 4.3 stars out of 5 on Amazon over more than 100 user reviews.
