Dimension Data wins $31.6M contract with Transport NSW

Dimension Data has been awarded a $31.6 million contract with Transport for New South Wales to provide Microsoft software.

Dimension Data is the primary software reseller for the Transport Cluster, which contains several agencies, including Roads and Maritime Services, Sydney Trains, NSW Trains, State Transit Authority, and the WestConnex Delivery Authority. Its lead agency is Transport for NSW.

As per the deal, Dimension Data will provide Microsoft software licensing for the department for three years, up to 2 November.

"Dimension Data is Transport for NSW’s nominated reseller," a department spokesperson told ARN. "The Microsoft Enterprise Agreement covers cloud services and support for Microsoft products.

In May, Dimension Data was awarded a $46.2 million deal with Transport NSW for the supply, maintenance and support of server and desktop software products.

“Dimension Data was awarded a five-year contract to act as a reseller for key software licensors' products including Microsoft, Oracle, Symantec, Cirtrix, Veritas and VMware,” a spokesperson for Transport NSW told ARN at the time.

The initial contract extends from 3 May this year to 3 May 2021, and was won following a competitive tender process involving no fewer than four potential suppliers.
