Overview

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a new set of rules coming into force May 25, 2018. It governs how organisations collect, use, and share data from European organisations, and requires that companies—EU-based or otherwise—must build data protection into their existing system design and infrastructure or face severe penalties. Organisations risk fines of up to 4% of global turnover for non-compliance—enough to jeopardise the ongoing viability of European operations!
